The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System™ is designed to complement the existing park brake system of any vehicle. The brake system gathers information from electrical signals sent by system components and the vehicle electrical system. The MAX-SAFE ECU then determines the risk state of the vehicle having a roll-away scenario due to the operator leaving the vehicle without the park brake applied. The operator is provided with a pre-warning visually and audibly if the system determines that the vehicle is at the point of rolling away.
The MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch system is an advanced reversing aid option for the MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System™. The MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 system utilises an advanced radar to detect people and objects in a pre-defined monitored area behind the vehicle and, in combination with the MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System™, stops the vehicle in the event an object is detected in the pre-defined Danger Zone.
The MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch™ Version 1.0 to Version 2.0 Upgrade Kit decommissions the Reverse Watch 1.0 radar, existing radar harness, radar head unit, LED display, and ECU, and replaces it with new Reverse Watch 2.0 radar, new radar harness, LCD screen, and ECU.
The upgraded ECU is equipped with the latest software version. There will also be a conversion of the MSB harness to suit the upgrades, this will be as an adaptor harness for the LCD screen and Radar.
The upgrade kit comes in 2 variants:
- Single Control
- Dual Control.
The Dual Control requires an additional seat extension harness to be run behind the seat.
Please ensure you have ordered and received the correct variant for your vehicle prior to commencing any work.
For how to operate the Reverse Watch® 2.0 system, please refer to the document Operational Functionality Guide – MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0.
If this system is to be installed into a vehicle with a hooklift or tipper body, please also refer to the document Installation Guide – MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 - Body-not-Home Option.
