MAN TG with EPB RW1 Installation Guide

Modified on Wed, 20 May at 1:53 PM

The MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 solution is an advanced reversing aid option that utilises an advanced radar to detect people & objects in blind spots, and brakes the vehicle if an object is detected in the pre-defined Danger Zone.

The MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 system gathers information from the vehicle’s FMS module CAN data, and installed Radar Sensor. If the system sees the vehicle placed in reverse, it sends a command to limit the speed of the vehicle to 10km/h.

At the same time, the system looks at the radar system and, if a signal from the radar is present, it will send a CAN command to the MAN FMS Electronics to apply the park brake, and to neutralise the transmission. The system will also not operate at speeds above 12km/h, at which the proprietary MAN electronics systems will restrict any brake request from the MAX-SAFE system.

This installation guide provides instructions on how to install the MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 into MAN TG vehicles with an Electronic Braking System and an Electronic Park Brake.

If this system is to be installed into a vehicle with a hooklift or trailer isolation, please refer to the relevant additional documents either Installation Guide – MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 - Body-not-Home Option or Installation Guide – MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 – Trailer Isolation.

For how to operate the Reverse Watch 2.0® system, please refer to the document Operational Functionality Guide – MAX-SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 System LCD Screen, and/or Operational Functionality Guide – MAX SAFE Reverse Watch® 2.0 – Body-not-Home
