The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System is designed to complement the existing park brake system of any vehicle. The brake system gathers information from electrical signals sent by system components and the vehicle electrical system. The MAX-SAFE ECU then determines the risk state of the vehicle having a roll-away scenario due to the operator leaving the vehicle without the park brake applied. The operator is provided with a pre-warning visually and audibly if the system determines that the vehicle is at the point of rolling away.

The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System monitors a range of parameters so as to avoid a potential rollaway scenario. These are:

  • Vehicle Speed
  • Vehicle Park Brake Lever Position
  • Driver Seat Pressure (ON SEAT / OFF SEAT)
  • Driver Door Status (OPEN / CLOSED)

The system utilises a LED display or LCD screen to inform the operator of the system condition. If the system activates, a loud audible warning is sounded, and the spring brake is applied. The operator must then sit back down on the seat, apply the foot brake, and apply the park brake in order to reset the system and silence the audible warning.

This MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System MUST be installed alongside a mechanical-type braking system. The installation guides detail specific sets of steps necessary to install the MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System into Canter vehicles with mechanical park brakes.
