The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System fitted to this vehicle is designed to supplement the vehicle’s park brake system, through monitoring specific vehicle The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System parameters for potential rollaway conditions. This system enhances the overall safety of the vehicle, protecting pedestrians, bystanders, and the driver from injury, and also protecting the equipment from damage.

The MAX-SAFE Anti-Rollaway Brake System monitors a range of parameters to avoid a potential rollaway scenario. These are:

  • Vehicle Speed
  • Vehicle Parking Brake Lever/Valve Position
  • Driver Seat Pressure (ON SEAT/OFF SEAT)
  • Driver Door Status (OPEN/CLOSED)

The MAX-SAFE System's LCD Screen is installed in the vehicle cabin. The display has pictograms and images to indicate the status of the monitored parameters and implemented actions. Depending on conditions, 6 different screens can possibly be displayed:

  • Main Screen
  • Park Brake Applied
  • Activation Screen
  • Warning Screens (Door Open Apply Park Brake / Fault Detected Repair Needed)
  • System Communication Fault

The system will alert the driver to a potential rollaway condition by warning the driver and pulsing an external tonal alarm, or, if enough conditions have been detected as active, the vehicle's park brake will be applied, and the external tonal alarm will sound continuously.
